Through photography, Elizabeth B. Davison has been exploring how we regard the human and natural worlds. Traditionally we have separated the two, considering nature as that which has been untouched by the hand of man. Yet there is no place on this earth that has not been affected by humans. In her images, she strives to demonstrate this concept by using examples of life and death in landscapes that show the merging of man and nature.
The images are a selection of landscapes taken in natural, rural, suburban, and urban environments. The sometimes subtle, sometimes overt human presence, and likewise the presence of what we have come to define as Nature, bring these varied landscapes together.
