
Gwen Lewis specializes in black and white documentary photography, including landscapes, architecture and people. Her sharply focused images capture the play of light and shadow.
Gwen began studying photography in 1983 with a course in documentary photography by Tom Hocker at the Field Museum in Chicago. In 1999 she studied at Glen Echo's Photoworks and since then has continued to study photography at Montgomery College. In addition, Gwen has worked with Vivian Ronay at the Smithsonian Institution and Danny Conant at Glen Echo. In 2000, Gwen studied black and white landscape photography with Alan Ross at the Santa Fe Workshops. In 2003, Gwen participated in workshops with Joyce Tenneson and architectural photographer Maxwell MacKenzie
