A native of Virginia, Jennings Sheffield attended The Atlanta College of Art, where she received her BFA in Photography. She has taught Graduate Research in Photography and Film and Digital Photography at Virginia Commonwealth University since the fall of 1999. Since 2002, she has taught Adobe Photoshop at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. As an active member of the fine arts community, she exhibits work in both digital and traditional formats. Believing photography does not necessarily need to be confined to a mat and frame, Jennings builds three-dimensional structures that forces the viewer to play an active role with her images.
