
Marla Brin: A native Chicagoan, Ms. Brin has lived in Virginia for more than two decades. Her background in photography includes black and white darkroom and 35mm. Though she primarily works in film, she is experimenting with digital imaging. Her love of photography was inspired early in life by the images of Eliot Porter and Alfred Stieglitz.
Ms. Brin’s primary interest is wildlife and landscape photography, with a focus on endangered species and habitats. She has traveled extensively, including Central America, the Galapagos, Alaska, sub-Arctic Canada, New Zealand and the South Pacific, to capture and record images of endangered species and the spirit and majesty of these animals and their habitats.
Her work has been displayed in a number of solo exhibits, as well as juried multi-artist shows in the Washington DC area. Her most recent solo exhibit was a fourteen-week wildlife exhibit at Borders Books in downtown Washington. Current exhibits include multi-artist shows at Del Ray Artisans and St. Elmo’s in Alexandria, and the International Landscape Show at the Art League. Memberships and associations include the Art League of Alexandria, Del Ray Artisans, and the Arts Council of Fairfax County. She maintains her studio in Alexandria, Virginia.
